The last several days have flown by. There is so much to see and do and visits to be made while we are in Texas!
Friday was a hodge-podge of activities. During the day I worked for a few hours (I really should have done more, but I couldn’t stand to). Then we had late lunch with cousins, Kate and Kelsey at a burger joint called TJ’s. it was uber tasty. Mom and I attempted to get pedicure done, but instead we will be going on Tuesday. After some more visits with my aunt Charlotte and her family (we are staying at their house)… We went back to other aunts so that I could go out on the town with cousins Sam and Kelsey! The three of us went to a piano bar, a little dive bar downtown, and then to the biggest gas station in the universe. I’ll have to write more about Buc-cee’s later!
Saturday was family reunion & party day! Nearly fifty people gathered to celebrate my Great Grandmas 93rd birthday and Mardi Gras themed family reunion! There are so many pictures and a good time was had by all.
Sunday was a pretty chill day. We were all exhausted from the party and slept in pretty late. That afternoon we headed out to my uncles house in Moore, TX. He has a beautiful half acre garden that he just started in November. Yes, I said November! His house is about 100 miles from the border so it was interesting to hear their perspective on things. Although we disagree on many things politically I can appreciate their own opinions. While at my uncles we had salad fresh from his garden, steamed chard, and llama stew. The whole meal was very yummy. W also got to play with two week old pug puppies. The pups were so tiny and cute!
I’m coming down with a nasty cold, so I’m not sure I will make it to New Braunfels Crossfit, though I really want to check it out! I went for a 2.5 mile walk this morning just to get moving a little. It’s an overcast, but beautiful day here. Now we are off to Fredricksburg for a little bit of touristy sight-seeing.
